I met Bari and Semaj this past winter when we all began attending our church, the First Unitarian Church of Oakland, at around the same time. I was thrilled when they asked me to photograph their wedding at the church this past weekend. It was quite the celebration, attended by an incredible range of people from the grooms’ communities. Everyone got teary at the toasts — so much love and gratitude filled the room! I hope I managed to capture even a small fraction of it in these photos. Congratulations, Bari and Semaj!
