ananda & laurel’s hindu-christian wedding under the golden gate bridge

I had so much fun shooting this wedding (my favorite wedding is always whatever one I’ve shot most recently!); scroll down and I’m sure you’ll see why! Ananda’s hilarious facial expressions, adorable flower girls running around before the ceremony, the groomsmen’s entrance over the hill, post-ceremony hot dogs… the multi-cultural ceremony included a saptapadi, during which the bride and groom’s clothing was tied together and seven blessings were offered as they walked seven times around a fire — or in this case a fiery plant — this was National Park land, after all! For the reception, Laurel and her bridesmaids changed into beautiful saris with the help of the women in Ananda’s family; crowding into the bathroom at the reception venue at Fort Mason to take these photos was one of my favorite parts of the evening.
